Mini Freak Out

THIS is our initial adoption application! (Edited so our identity can’t get stolen…ha!)Edited Initial Application

THIS is our final application and dossier ready to be taken to the UPS store to make copies and mail off to the agency! IMG_0190

And THIS is what caused my mini freak out.

IMG_0191

Our beautiful adoption application and dossier that HOURS upon HOURS of blood (literally), sweat (literally) and tears (literally) brought about. It was a very very hard thing for me to hand this packet (82 pages + pictures by the way) over to the UPS lady. I seriously debated driving it to Fairhope, AL and placing it into my agency’s hands but then I convinced myself that that would be crazy because it is a 3 1/2 hour drive and I’m not crazy…right? So, I mailed it…overnight…tracking…all that good stuff.

And then…it got lost. LOST! According to UPS it was delivered at 10:42am this past Thursday but when I called the agency this morning the lady I talked to said that they never received it. Cue the panic. I called the main UPS number, I called the UPS store it was shipped to and no one could find it but they said they would look into it and get back to me. My heart is racing about a million times faster than it should be and I can’t get any work done. For anyone who has ever completed international adoption paperwork you will understand.

So as I am freaking out I finally decide that I have to get down on my knees and pray that this packet will be found. I literally barely get down on my knees when my phone rings. UPS lady….packet found!!! Wow! Isn’t God cool!?!

  4. Exciting!!! I'm so glad your package was only temporarily lost- I totally would have lost it! We were fortunate that I work in the same town as our agency, so I just visited them a bazillion times a day when we were in the paperwork stage!

  10. So glad it all worked out in the end. God's got your back! =) I'm learning to take everything in stride and trust God with every step too!
But, in the beginning (and even now, and I'll probably still in the future), I wanted everything to be smooth sailing since we had faced so many bumps in the road with our fertility and loss. I really had to repent of the feeling that I thought God "owed" it to me to make it easier or to give me a "privileged" status thru our beginning journey. Wow. Does God's got His handsful in working on my heart and attitude, or what? God gonna make sure I keep my eyes on Him thru infertility, thru adoption, thru LIFE! =)

  12. That is SUCH a God thing! I can't imagine how panicked you were; my heart was starting to pound just reading your post. I'm so glad the packet was located and will make it where it needs to go. Thanks so much for letting us all come along on your adoption journey! Please know that you, Barry, and the sweet wee one God has ALREADY chosen for you are in my prayers!
